My journey into woodworking started when I was around 6. My dad had a shop in our basement and occasionally he would let me make something out of his scraps. As I got older, he and I would watch This Old House and New Yankee Workshop in the mornings before school. I went on to do other things in life, but I never lost my love of creating things, nor my appreciation for the warmth and feel of wood.

As an adult, I loved making things for my family and friends and immersing myself in the world of woodworking. It was with the desire to do what I loved and the encouragement of my wife and family that I started Knotty Bear.

Now, I get to use my enthusiasm and expertise to help others create unique pieces for their homes and business. When I’m not woodworking, I enjoy spending time with my family; road tripping in our RV and showing our two young boys the beauty of nature.
